CAT WELCOME LETTER

Thank you for your application and welcome to our rescue family. You can pick up INSERT NAME HERE today at Petsmart of Manchester. All adult household members must be present for adoption. Please bring a cat carrier with you. Contact us immediately if you have any reservations.

You can pay the $175 tax-deductible adoption fee by cash or check when you pick up. Review our contract on our website https://packleadersrescue.com/contract/  and sign before adoption.

We have been feeding all our rescue cats and kittens authority brand food from Petsmart. Your cats stomach might be a little upset because of travel/change of diet and stress. Be patient with them and they will develop a schedule and routine. It is always best to feed them on a daily schedule. Keep fresh water out for them throughout the day.

We also recommend keeping your cats social interaction to a minimum for the first week. Your new addition is already going through changes and they need a little time to adjust and build a trusting relationship with their new family. Remember all of our cats are indoor only.

Rescue cats miss out on a lot of regular vet care in their life-time, until NOW of course! We have had your new family member microchipped, vetted, and ready for a fresh start in their forever home. They are all evaluated by a vet when they come into the rescue. Any illnesses you find after adoption are your responsibility as the new owner.

We recommend bringing your new addition to your vet within the first 2 weeks, after the free health insurance grace period. You will receive a Petsmart coupon book at adoption which includes a coupon for a free office visit at any Banfield Vet Hospital found in Petsmart. Your cat will need heartworm preventive. We also recommend that your cat has a fecal exam within 2 weeks of adoption, as many rescue cats have never been regularly wormed until they were taken into our rescue. We worm EVERY animal in our care, however, many times wormers need to be repeated, as rescue cats were likely never put through their de-worming regime as a kittens, like responsible pet owners would have done.

Your cat is micro-chipped and registered under your name. All adoptions come with a free month of health insurance and you will have to sign up within 5 days of adoption. Keep an eye out for the email from 24PetWatch within 48 hours after adoption to confirm the health insurance and microchip.
